Bands and musicians
A number of ceilidh bands and musicians have played at Society events over the years, and we can thoroughly recommend all of them! Links are included for those that have websites:
Ally Mackenzie on accordion and Iain "Stretch" MacFadyen on drums played together at the 2007 Burns Supper Helensburgh ceilidh band Crowded Croft played at the 2009 Spring Ceilidh. Gabriel Fliflet on accordion and Annlaug Børsheim on fiddle played together at the St Andrews Ceilidh in 2005. Hugh McDiarmid's Haircut from Edinburgh played at the 2007 Autumn Ceilidh. The Ian Hutson Scottish Dance Band played at the 2006 Autumn Ceilidh and the 2007 Spring Ceilidh. The Sensational Jimi Shandrix Experience played at the 2008 Autumn Ceilidh. Edinburgh ceilidh band The Shandoneers played at the 2008 Spring Ceilidh
Raffle prize donations
The following organisations have kindly donated raffle prizes for events, and the Society are very grateful for their generosity:
Cricket Scotland donated a Scotland Cricket shirt signed by the Scotland Cricket Team. Karen Matheson of Capercaillie donated a signed CD of her latest solo album 'Downriver'. Runrig have donated a number of CD's, DVD's and T-Shirts. The Official Scotland Shop of the Scottish Football Association donated a Scottish Football - Away Strip shirt, signed by the Scotland Football Team. The Scottish Hockey Union donated a Scotland Hockey Shirt. Tartan Web donated a Sgian Dhu (Kilt sock knife). Vertical Records donated two CDs. The Craignure, Isle of Mull, Edinburgh and Oban branches of Visit Scotland: have donated books, posters, Scotland souvenirs and pewter ware. Wolfstone donated three signed CD's of their latest album.
